Applied Science trains students to become natural scientists who on the one hand specialise in materials science (Chemistry), chemical engineering (Technology), food science (Food) or life science (Biology) and on the other hand who are broadly employable and can look beyond the boundaries of their scientific field. Applied Science trains for fields with enormous potential, for which you will be rewarded with a Bachelor of Science.
During the first year, you will be introduced to the fields of Chemistry, Biology, Technology, Food, Mathematics and Physics. You will take these courses for the benefit of the four areas of specialisation and you will work on projects. After the first six months you can already choose your field of study, you can also postpone this until the end of the year. In the second year, you take the courses that belong to your chosen package, and you also choose extra courses that are outside the package. This ensures that the Applied Science programme educates students broadly with mixed knowledge entirely according to your choice.
